CWP0062-083

CWP0062-083 was crafted from a Panerai Radiomir 0062 in white gold. We imbued this modern Panerai with the brand’s early history.

We began this project with a problem; our client sought a vintage-inspired modern Panerai, with the added requirements of a precious-metal case and a small (for the marque) 40mm size. To achieve these aims, our client purchased a PAM0062 in white gold and provided it to Cloister. We then executed a design scheme that incorporated both Cloister’s Mirror Treatment and the California-style dial convention first featured on the 1942 “Anonymous Dial” Ref. 3646 Types E, F & G (and later on the PAM00249).

We filled the date window but retained the modern Radiomir’s sub-seconds dial to create visual interest against the backdrop of an expansive, undulating mirror, applied the California-style text in white luminous paint, and replaced the modern sapphire crystal with subtly domed acrylic. We also reconstructed the watch’s original crown to mirror the shape of the WWII-era Panerais, removing the logo in the process. We added a bespoke suede strap and Cloister-fabricated **tang buckle in eighteen karat white gold, and finished this project by applying the client’s custom-designed, engraved monogram on the caseback.
