CWR5513-034 was crafted from a Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, circa 1989.

For a client’s thirtieth birthday, we reimagined this birth-year Submariner provided by its original owner by coating the watch’s case and bracelet in a black satin “Diamond-like Carbon” finish, before reimagining the dial layout. We removed all but four of the painted indices. We incorporated a “30” motif throughout the design: the 6 o’clock (or 30 minute) marker was rendered in a contrasting red, the “30” on the painted bezel was retained while the majority of the bezel paint was removed by hand-sanding, and the number “30” was engraved on the watch’s caseback beneath the “DLC” finish. We rendered the new owner’s initials on the watch’s dial in lieu of the lower text, and presented the watch fitted to the original bracelet, with an accompanying Parisian grey suede strap (not pictured).
